Dr. Macson Lee, OD, FCOVD (Dr. Max) has built a distinguished career in optometry, becoming one of only four doctors in Oregon to complete both residency and fellowship training in vision therapy and rehabilitation, neuro optometry, and sports vision enhancement.

He serves on the prestigious International Education Certification Board and is the Oregon State Coordinator for the Optometric Vision and Development Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA). Dr. Max is also an active member of the College of Syntonic Optometry and the American Optometric Association.

When I first met Dr. Max, I was in a deep hole. For a couple years I'd been experiencing some strange health problems that manifested in pain in my abdomen, chest and throat, horrible sleeping problems, and hypersensitivity to a variety of stimuli including lights, wi-fi signals and changes in barometric pressure. After cycling through a number of doctors, I was finally diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. From there I worked through a week-long intensive with a functional neurology clinic and was then referred to Dr. Max as the next step in my healing journey. Straight away, his professionalism, kindness and calm demeanor set me at ease and pretty quickly I started to see improvements. I remember the first time I put on the prism glasses that he prescribed and feeling like I was walking on a cloud. Vision therapy came after that and it was a long haul, but I was willing to put in the work and was encouraged by the progress that I was showing at my twice annual check-in appointments. Fast forward to present day and I'm in a way better place than before. Where once I had a hard time staying present with my family and was concerned about my ability to stay employed, I am now thriving at home and at work. My symptoms are far less pronounced than in the past and I'm much more aware of situations that can prove triggering. My recovery from my symptoms is also much quicker than used to be the case -- instead of being wiped out for the remainder of the day, I'm often now able to bounce back in a matter of minutes. I'm a success story, a testament to the effectiveness of Dr. Max's practice, and I truly believe he's one of the best in the business. We're lucky to have him in the Pacific Northwest.

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Macson Lee. 6 years ago, I had a significant TBI, and my vision was seriously affected. I had no near point vision, and my field of vision was completely skewed down and to the right. Dr. Max gave me an immediate solution with prisms and was able to fully restore my vision over a period of two years. Without him, I would not have been able to return to work at all. In addition, I have referred over 100 children with dyslexia and autism to Dr. Max for developmental vision assessments and vision therapy. He has done remarkable work with all of them! Dr. Max is constantly engaged in teaching others, learning new skills, and is also involved in cutting-edge research. I am honored to know Dr. Max both as a colleague and as my personal optometrist.

In July of 2021 I was rear-ended while at a stop sign. I had a massive concussion and it affected my vision. Dr. Macson Lee was wonderful. He and his staff made me feel comfortable from the beginning. When he tested me and tried on the Prism glasses I cried. I could see clearly for the first time in a long time! He not only helped me get my vision back, but we had vision therapy and Light therapy and all of a sudden decades of messed up vision has been corrected. It took me 2 years to get better and Dr. Macson and his staff were wonderful throughout the whole experience. I no longer need the prism glasses and my vision is now almost 20/20! Thanks Doc!!! Dr. Max is the best eye Doctor you're gonna meet. He's kind, funny, and sees things other doctors can't. He notices the little things so they don't turn into big things. He's helped me so much and is really good with kids who have disabilities. I have Tourette's Syndrome, and Dr Max treats me like everyone else and doesn't make me feel odd for who I am. He's been my Doctor forever, and I hope he will be yours, too.
